Nene Valley Railway's Lineside Apparatus - 2004

A final view of the embankment before it is pulled down3rd April 2004

One last look at the embankment before it is levelled to give improved viewing opportunities of the lineside apparatus.

A start is made on leveling the embankmentThe JCB starts the job of pulling down the embankment, which is only made up of spent ballast.
The viewing area starts to take shapeThe view from the apparatus area clearly shows how the levelling of the embankment will enable more people to view the operations of the TPO at "Sutton Cross".
Standing on the viewing areaOn top of the viewing area, this will now be easier for people to watch the trains pass by.

The apparatus area has also been levelledThe apparatus area has also benefited from some of the excess material from the embankment being used to create a level working area.

The viewing area now has the posts in place onto which wiring will be installed to form a fence at the front of the viewing area.
