One last look at the
embankment before it is levelled to give improved viewing
opportunities of the lineside apparatus.
The JCB starts the job of pulling down the
embankment, which is only made up of spent ballast.
The view
from the apparatus area clearly shows how the levelling
of the embankment will enable more people to view the
operations of the TPO at "Sutton Cross".
On top of
the viewing area, this will now be easier for people to
watch the trains pass by.
The view looking back to the apparatus area.
The apparatus area has also benefited from
some of the excess material from the embankment being
used to create a level working area.
23rd May 2004
The viewing area now has the
posts in place onto which wiring will be installed to
form a fence at the front of the viewing area.

the newly installed Sutton Cross sign.
A general
view of the lineside apparatus equipment with the
groundframe, concrete pad, viewing area, lineside hut and
apparatus. The concrete pad will be used to allow
passengers to detrain using a set of purpose made steps.
