Lineside Apparatus - Great Central Railway

Wayside and standard at the GCRThe approach to the lineside, shown with the equipment in the out of use position.

View of the wayside nets at the GCRThe view looking down upon the wayside apparatus and towards Loughborough.

Note that the net area is formed in a 'V' shape, this being the smaller of the two basic designs for the wayside apparatus. The examples at the Nene Valley Railway and Didcot Railway Centre being formed in more of a rectangle shape with additional bracing and uprights.

View of the standard at the GCRThe single standard with a double arm.

Close-up of the wayside equipment at the GCRA view looking at the wayside apparatus, this clearly shows the design of the gate and how it is connected to the ropes that form the net.
