Built in 1939 at Wolverton works near Milton Keynes by the LMS to diagram 2043 and lot 1238, this vehicle was preserved at the Midland Railway Centre in 1974.
30225 is now displayed inside the Midland Railway Centre's Kirtley Museum Building. As such it is kept in secure and dry accomodation that is open for the public to visit.Whilst the vehicle has been painted at some time in the past it is not numbered, lined or have its 'Royal Mail' lettering
The apparatus area is complete except for the netting and it is also partly dismantled.
Internally the vehicle is basically as it left traffic.
