London & Birmingham TPO Replica

History

This vehicle was built in 1938 by the LMS as a replica of the first purposely built TPOs to operate in Britain in 1838. The frames for the vehicle come from a former LMS or LNWR wagon, numbered 282693.

Preservation

The vehicle is believed to have been stored at Wolverton until moving to Clapham Museum, moving to York when the current York Museum opened.
