Paul Hancock has spent all of Easter inside TPO
814, painting the walls in yellow undercoat. Brian
Hallett & Brian White, from the NVR's TPO Group,
spent two days down at Didcot over Easter to give Paul a
helping hand.
The
apparatus side of the coach also saw the first
application of gloss paint to the cream section of the
body.
Frank also started to apply the gloss to the
"non apparatus" side of the coach.
By the end
of play on Sunday the interior had been completely
painted in the yellow undercoat - a bit bright!!
27th April
2004
The final coat of chocolate & cream is on and
waiting for lining - just look at the deep shine.
15th May 2004
As can be seen the main
apparatus equipment has now been put back on the coach,
including the traductor buckets, nets and even the door
handles.
The view looking the over way.
The vehicle also received and passed its
detailed examination to ensure that it is fit to travel
over the national network. The coach will have to travel
a couple of miles from Didcot to Milton where it will be
loaded for onward movement to Wansford.
22nd May 2004
Frank is seen here working
on the apparatus equipment on the "non
apparatus" side of the coach.
The lining out of 814 has now started.
29th May 2004
With most of the lining out
completed many parts of the apparatus equipment has been
put back onto the coach. Here we see Stephen screwing on
of the traductor arm supports into place.
The
apparatus area back in place with just a few areas of
lining still to be done.
The
"Royal Mail" logo in the process of being
painted.
The drop
lights have now been placed back into the doors, the
wooden surrounds have been screwed into place and the
iron bars reinstated.
